Schedule Time To Pray, Worship And Read From The Bible

Healthy Things Grow!

And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him.  Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.

Develop a habit of abiding with Jesus. Why? Because every good relationship grows when you spend time together!

Consider 20 minutes each day using the following plan. You may want to start with a goal of 3-5 days per week.

Prayer (5 minutes)

The A.C.T.S. method of prayer can help you expand your conversations in prayer. A.C.T.S. is an acronym that is a reminder of things can include in our prayers.

  • Adoration- Lord, I praise and adore you because you are….
  • Confession- Lord I am struggling with… Forgive me for….
  • Thanksgiving – Lord, I thank you for…
  • Supplication- Lord, there are things that I need… There are things that others need…

* Supplication means: asking or begging for something earnestly or humbly.

Bible (10 minutes)

Read 1 chapter a day from the Gospel of Mark.

  • The Gospel of Mark is one of the biographies of Jesus found in the Bible. If you don’t have a Bible yet, please pick up a free copy in the lobby of any Discovery Church location.
