Understand the Biblical Narrative

How Does the Bible Fit Together?

This lesson will help you understand how the parts of the Bible are connected

The Bible is not a random collection of unrelated stories and teachings. The Bible is God’s big story and the entire text revolves around Jesus Christ. To begin to understand how the pieces of the story are connected use the following resources. This is a 2 part lesson that includes 2 videos and 1 book.

First watch the following Bible Project Videos.

After watching both videos discuss what you learned with a friend. Then move on to the book listed below.

After watching the Bible Project videos read the book:

The Story of God, the Story of Us: Getting Lost and Found in the Bible by Sean Gladding

If money is an issue in acquiring this book, you can get it for free by contacting us at discoverypathway@discoverychurch.org.

“Sean invites us to find ourselves in Scripture. He points us back to the Story. It’s not a new story; in fact, it is as old as humanity itself. But it is still very much our story, showing us what we already know and feel: that we, like the Israelites, and like all of creation, are in exile, longing for redemption, in search of the promised land. Sean invites us to see that this Story, God’s Story, is our story.”–Travis Reed

Use the accompanying discussion guide along with your reading of each chapter. It is best to read this book and work through the study guide with a friend or in a small group.
