Make Jesus Lord of Everything

Have you Surrendered The Title of Your Life to Jesus?

"If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him."

When we say “Jesus is Lord”, what does that really mean? Is he Lord of everything? What about the parts of life that we are good at? What about the mundane everyday tasks? Have you ever imagined bringing Jesus with you into your everyday activities?

During a sermon done at Discovery Church, Dr. Crawford Loritts talked about what it means to be an authentic follower of Jesus. He stated that you’re never going to meander your way into change. You need decisions in order to have development.

In an effort to take this teaching to heart and apply what you are learning, follow up watching the sermon by reading the discipleship story called My Heart, Christ’s Home by Robert Boyd Munger. This short booklet is profoundly powerful. It illustrates the transformation and growth you will have by inviting Jesus to be Lord of your whole life.

If you would like to purchase the pamphlet, then you can obtain it here. If you would like to obtain the pamphlet without cost, you can contact us at discoverypathway@discoverychurch.org.

To Complete This Step:
  1. Watch the sermon by Dr. Crawford Loritts.
  2. Read the short but powerful booklet called “My Heart, Christ’s Home”. If you would like to purchase the pamphlet, then you can obtain it here
  3. As you read, think through these questions:
    1. Which of the “rooms” of your heart is Jesus Lord of currently?
    2. Are there rooms you have kept Jesus out of?
    3. Do you need to invite Jesus to become (or return as) Lord?
    4. Consider the “Title Deed” portion of the story. Have you invited Jesus to put His name on the deed of your house?
    5. Do you still feel the need to “manage” the house?
  4. Pray and reflect with the Lord.
  5. Set up a time to discuss with your BGP some actions that you feel God is calling you to take in order to make Jesus Lord of the whole house.
Think this might be the next step for you?
